The leadership shift

Technical expertise gets you further. Leadership asks something different of you.

As your role grows, being technically right is no longer enough. You also need to make your thinking clear to other people and move conversations forward.

Lead conversations

Run meetings with clarity, direction and purpose.

Explain decisions

Make the reasoning behind technical and business decisions easier for others to understand.

Navigate feedback

Give, receive and respond to feedback without losing clarity or intent.

Influence across teams

Communicate your expertise effectively with clients, stakeholders and global teams.

How we work

Communication improves through deliberate practice.

The Lead Engine is built around realistic communication situations, purposeful practice and feedback that helps participants notice what changes their impact.

01

Work with real situations

Participants work with scenarios that reflect the kinds of conversations, decisions and challenges they face in leadership roles.

02

Learn through performance and observation

Practice is shared across the cohort, so each performance becomes an opportunity to observe, notice and apply useful communication choices.

03

Improve through feedback

General feedback supports the whole group, while individual feedback helps each participant identify specific patterns and development priorities.

About The Lead Engine

Built at the intersection oflanguage, communication and leadership.

The Lead Engine grew from a simple observation: professionals can reach leadership roles with strong technical expertise while still needing deliberate training for the communication those roles demand.

The program is developed by Ara, an English teacher specialising in professional communication, drawing on years of experience helping adults use English more effectively in demanding professional contexts.

The goal is to create a focused learning experience where English is the medium, communication is the capability being developed, and leadership situations provide the context for practice.

The principle

English is the means.Leadership communication is the skill.

Frequently asked questions

Before you decide whether The Lead Engine is for you.

A few practical answers about the program, the entry level and how the learning experience works.

Is this an English course?

Not in the traditional sense. English is the working language of the program, but the focus is on developing the communication skills you need to lead, explain, influence and handle professional conversations more effectively.

What level of English do I need?

A B1+/B2 level is recommended. You should already be able to use English independently, with a solid base of grammar and vocabulary, so that your attention can go towards communication performance rather than foundational language learning.

Who is the program designed for?

The program is designed for current and emerging leaders, particularly in tech, design and client-facing roles, who need to communicate effectively with teams, clients and stakeholders in international professional environments.

Do I need to already be in a leadership role?

No. The program is suitable both for professionals who already lead and for those preparing to move into leadership responsibilities where communication will become an increasingly important part of their work.

How long is the program?

The program runs for eight weeks and includes 16 hours of live training in a small cohort.

What happens during the live sessions?

Sessions are built around realistic professional situations. Participants analyse communication challenges, prepare for them, practise through role plays and other performance tasks, observe each other and use feedback to improve.

Will I receive individual feedback?

Yes. General feedback is shared with the group so everyone can learn from the practice, while specific observations and development priorities can also be shared individually.
